International Journal of Management Concepts and Philosophy, 2005, vol. 1, issue 2, 156-167

Abstract: This conceptual article addresses the question of what sort of role do metaphoric boundary objects play in the process of developing strategic vision. At the beginning of the article, the concept of vision is highlighted. Then the discussion deals with the notion of knowledge. After that the discussion goes on to describe the concepts of boundary object and metaphor in general. The main focus of the article, which is examining metaphoric boundary objects in the creation of a company's strategic vision, is then discussed in detail. The article ends with the conclusion that metaphoric boundary objects can function as helpful tools in the creation of strategic vision.
