Seeing the opportunities in the big issues

Bruce Nixon

International Journal of Management and Decision Making, 2005, vol. 6, issue 3/4, 232-243

Abstract: Amongst the big issues for humanity at the start of the 21st century are climate change and the growing gap between a rich and powerful elite and the vast majority. If a living system is not respected, it hits back harshly. Unless humanity learns willingly, the Universe will force it upon them. The best response is to see these issues as opportunities. There is a growing tide of innovations doing just that. But there is no denying the shadow side. The purpose of business needs redefining and the global framework for business urgently needs reform. To make this happen quickly enough, business leaders must become activists.
