Corporate culture amid structural reforms of Japanese companies – some lessons for significant alternative analysis

Shigeru Uchida

International Journal of Management and Decision Making, 2008, vol. 9, issue 3, 225-241

Abstract: Adequate understanding of the Japanese corporate culture is considered as one of the basic steps to conduct comparative analyses of corporate performance. This study adopts quantitative analyses to investigate the relationship between corporate culture and their effect on the attitudes of employees engaged both in the middle-level management of business and engineering affairs. As a result of the study, it is found that there is a strong relationship between corporate culture and service providing attitude of employees. The degree of this relationship is getting stronger when it reflects that the enterprise makes much of human resource on the concerned corporate culture. It has become evident that corporate culture has still important positive roles both for the employee and the management.
