The influence of organisational capabilities on organisational performance in the manufacturing sector

Abstract:
Organisational performance is vital to achieving a competitive advantage that is needed by organisations for business sustainability. The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of organisational capabilities on the performance of the organisation in the manufacturing sector in Malaysia. The data were collected via a structured questionnaire, in which the unit of analysis is individuals working in manufacturing organisations in Malaysia. The findings indicated that organisation capabilities have a significant influence on organisation performance, and it is contributed by eight dimensions comprises of technology capability, dynamic capability, marketing capability, innovation capability, information technology capability, knowledge management capability, learning capability and management capability. This study enriched further resource base view and I-TOP model by confirming its claims on resources leads to organisational performance. It helps practitioners to strategise better to optimise their organisational performance by focusing on technology capability, marketing capability, innovation capability, knowledge management capability and management capability.
