Abstract:
Research examines distribution strategies of Asian companies serving the Russian market, and special attention is given to the organisation and arrangement of flows of transportation process. Research is based on two case studies of Asian companies (electric and electronic products logistics operator and automotive manufacturer), both of which have a long experience from operating in this market. Results show that the chief four factors determining logistics management of Asian companies in this environment are: transportation volumes, transportation route, infrastructure used and the warehousing/manufacturing strategy. The completed research work represents a unique and in part seminal study of the activity of Asian companies in Russia.
