Some issues of technology management in China: a challenge towards the 21st century

Abstract: This paper summarises the economic performance of China since the launch of economic reform and its opening up to the outside world. It presents an analysis of the macro-economy and enterprise system related to the strengths and weaknesses of technology management in China. A case study, which is the result of an international joint research project is presented, and shows the interaction between enterprises and technology support institutions. Finally, a theoretical explanation of institutionalism and the system concept of management are summed up.
