Upgrading the competitiveness of East Asia through the more rapid development of human resources

Abstract: The countries of the East Asian region have experienced, over the last 20 years, a period of strong economic growth. Whilst foreign investment is recognised as a major contributory factor, member countries of the region are now actively building strategies for mutual advancement. A firm foundation for the future development of economic coexistence in the region needs to focus on further inward investment, improvements in communications, transportation, use of energy and natural resources. HR encompasses the provision of state-of-the-art technologies and quality controls, as well as the need to develop the capabilities of personal - both managerial and shop-floor, in order to provide the high quality goods requires by developed countries.
