Abstract:
This paper presents the design of a fuzzy controller for a production inventory system with deteriorating items, where the deterioration rate is unknown and the demand rate depends on the inventory level in a non-linear relationship. The periodic-review of this system is investigated. The control module uses a fuzzy logic controller. It simulates the decision support system to maintain the inventory of the finished product at the desired level, in spite of unknown items deterioration rate and non-linear demand rate. The effectiveness of the proposed control model is illustrated by simulation.
