Abstract:
The concept of green material selection is one of the most essential steps for the material industry to comprehensively ameliorate material properties and improve environmental performance in long-term. The consideration of economic and environmental factors in green material selection is a multi-criteria decision problem that requires mathematical techniques such as multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods. The objective of this work is to develop a ranking MCDM model for green material selection under uncertainty. It is based on investigating one of the MCDM methods, CODAS for addressing multiple criteria group decision making problems in the framework of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). The rating of each alternative is described by linguistic terms and converted to triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs).
