Procurement function modelled as a taxonomy of perishable goods along the cold chain

Abstract:
This manuscript seeks to explore the paradigm of market dynamics of procurement of perishable goods as an alternative to large scale CAPEX on warehousing facilities. The study encompasses a validation of the storage and stowage at strategic locations along the cold supply chain network. The primary variables chosen for an analytical review are sensitive to many critical success factors; in light of the clustered variable of 'rate of decay', the asymptotic impact of conservation (activation delay) is accounted for by way of analysing the inbound, outbound and storage of a multitude of perishable goods at a large corporate operating the live city of Bangalore. The study computed factor analysis, theory of generalisation and the widely adopted Kraljic matrix for deriving the taxonomy parameters. Over the last five years, deterioration affect as a quantified variable has attracted multiple studies. This study asserts that, a taxonomy based approach to assimilate the importance of participating in the dynamic market as a stakeholder and optimal order servicing from the aisles in the warehouse can help firms in the cold chain attain competitive advantage.
