Influence of contract management on value for money procurement in Tanzania

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to find out the influence of contract management on value for money procurement in Tanzania. The study used a quantitative approach and cross-section survey design in data collection and analysis. The data were collected from 164 procurement entities. Data analysis was mainly based on descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show that contract formation and quality control are significant attributes that enhance value for money. Conversely, the contract administration, time control, and cost control were not significant attributes to predict a value for money. Empirically, this study contributes to the existing knowledge of procurement contract management by linking the attributes of contracts and value for money. Thus, the study concludes that effective and efficient contract management enhance value for money in Tanzania public procurement.
