Abstract:
In the past few years, reverse auction (RA) has remained of interest in academic and industrial societies. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted in the last six years to raise the most relevant RA terms used in the supply chain. To carry out the SLR, a five-stage method is followed: material collection, descriptive analysis, category selection, and material evaluation. In the research, the nine most relevant keywords about RA related to the supply chain are considered. The review is limited to published papers in Scopus and Web of Science. Therefore, other types of studies can be included in future studies. To validate the findings, the authors recommend future research to implement a mechanism with the raised principles. The research provides an understanding of RA models considering their main characteristics, advantages, and issues that must be evaluated before adopting them in the supply chain.
