International Journal of Procurement Management, 2025, vol. 23, issue 2, 231-258

Abstract: The objective of the study is to investigate and comprehend the interrelationships and dependencies among supplier development performance outcomes (SDPOs) in order to facilitate a systematic execution of supplier performance improvement through supplier development (SD). The combination of two methodologies interpretive structural modelling (ISM) and fuzzy matrice d'impacts croisés multiplication appliquée á un classement (MICMAC) analysis are applied in this study to identify the interrelationship and determine the driving and dependence power of SDPOs. This integrated approach offers a robust framework for exploring and analysing the intricate relationships within the context of SD. The binary representation from ISM establishes a foundational understanding, while the fuzzy MICMAC analysis adds depth by considering the fuzzy nature of real-world interactions. This study shows the hierarchy of 36 SDPOs identified and finalised through an extensive literature survey and expert's opinion. This analysis can be used as the guidelines for managers and decision-making authorities in planning and implementing SD within their organisations. The reliability of this study can be further enhanced using a well-designed and validated questionnaire to mitigate any biased opinions from the team of experts involved in the consultation process.
