Abstract:
To obtain numerical measures on process potential and process performance which meets the pre-set targets of the customer, process capability indices are used widely in the manufacturing industry. Capability measure for processes with a single set of characteristics has been investigated extensively but is comparatively neglected for processes with multiple characteristics. Also, process capability indices are treated effectively wherein the indices identify and measure deficiencies in process capability owing to individual quality characteristics instead of the product level quality. In this paper, we propose a reliable approach to multiple quality components and how components affect the product level quality overall. Relationships between quality components and product level quality process contribute opportunities for continuous improvement on the manufacturing process.
