Abstract:
The aim of this study is to examine the influence of quality management practices (QMPs) on organisational performance mediated by the role of knowledge integration. Data were collected via a survey to 205 leaders of universities in Semarang. We used Smart PLS Program to analyse data statistically. The results show that dimension leadership commitment and continuous improvement had a positive and significant effect on organisational performance and knowledge integration mediates the influence of continuous improvement and customer focus on organisational performance. We found that the basic model of leadership behaviour such as continuous improvements and customer focus on organisational performance proved to be mediated by knowledge integration. The limitations of this study are due to differences in research objects such as institutional characteristics and strategies used so as to produce research results that are different from the results of previous studies and do not involve employees and students as part of the academic community so that the representation of respondents to assess performance is not optimal. Future research can develop tests of other dimensions of quality management practice so as to contribute to the improvement of strong organisational performance.
