This paper aims at providing a review of the relevant aspects related to the implementation of SCM in manufacturing as well as service industries with an objective to provide the future research direction in order to improve the operations in SSCM. The paper covers the review of basic concepts and definitions of SCM in manufacturing sector, current status of service sectors, main elements of SSCM, potential threats for the implementation of SSCM, various models and frameworks used in SSCM and their limitations.
