Optimal planning of oil palm fruit harvest

Tatiana Gonzalez-Negrete, Rafael Guillermo García-Cáceres and John Wilmer Escobar-Velásquez

International Journal of Services and Operations Management, 2024, vol. 49, issue 3, 311-340

Abstract: The present paper deals with operational planning in the upstream link of the oil palm supply chain. A MIP mathematical model is proposed in order to optimise fruit lifting and transportation activities within plantations, seeking to improve the coordination of human resources and available equipment. The proposed stochastic bi-objective model was optimally solved under the ε-constraint solution procedure, with a good performance in terms of computation time.
