Abstract:
This study aimed to develop a strategic management model of AIS in order to increase the productivity of policies and programs in this sector. The participants in this study consisted of 19 decision-makers and researchers from the Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization and its affiliated institutions who were selected through snowball sampling. To investigate internal and external influences, the data collection tools in this study were interviews and a questionnaire, which was designed by step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis. Finally, the mission and vision, long-term goals, and AIS strategies in Iran were developed based on the study findings. The results indicated that the Iranian AIS emphasises achieving sustainable agricultural development, food security, and knowledge-based agriculture as well as developing new technologies in active agricultural sectors. The study result also revealed the necessity of empowerment, wealth creation, productive employment, and utilisation of competitive advantage in agricultural production.
