International Journal of Sustainable Development, 2025, vol. 28, issue 4, 515-528

Abstract: Evaluating the effectiveness of English teaching reform can effectively improve the quality and effectiveness of English teaching. Therefore, the paper proposes an evaluation method for the effectiveness of English teaching reform based on GWO-SVM. First of all, a multiple evaluation index system is built with schools, teachers and students as the main body, and use fuzzy theory to mine the data of reform results; Secondly, the mined data is processed to achieve data standardisation; then, a sample classifier is constructed by SVM to classify the reform effect data. Finally, the evaluation function is constructed based on GWO, and the function is solved, and the final evaluation effect of English teaching reform is input. The results show that the evaluation result of this method is of high accuracy, less than 2.3 s in time, and up to 0.97 in comprehensiveness, effectively improving the reform effect.
