Abstract:
To characterise the demand for innovation support of industrial companies within a system and thus delivering basic inputs for the design of proper policy measures for developing countries, the resource base for innovation has to be characterised. This paper demonstrates the characterisation of the resource base for innovation of a manufacturing industrial branch by elaborating a set of key drivers. By means of a literature review, expert interviews and an assessment and selection process, the question of the definition and legitimisation of such drivers, which are describing the relevant intellectual capital for technological innovation processes, is addressed.
