Abstract:
This study compares Korean vocational educational and training (VET) policies targeting older workers with those of European countries that have been traditionally concerned about the socio-economic effect of ageing, and through this comparison to find ways to improve policies for older workers in Korea. The analysis was based on the application of the most similar systems design (MSSD), a method for exploring similarities and differences across cases. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications for policy development based on the research findings and provides suggestions for improving VET opportunities for older workers in Korea.
