Extending Sanjay Sharma's theory of exchange

Sanjay Sharma

International Journal of Applied Management Science, 2009, vol. 1, issue 4, 325-339

Abstract: In the previous researches, various parameters have been exchanged in the context of multi-item manufacturing system. These parameters include the demand/production rate and the carrying/shortage cost. One parameter has been exchanged at a time and the corresponding conditions are developed that guarantee the total cost improvement. The theory of exchange is extended in the present paper where multiple parameters are swapped for any two items. The total costs before and after the exchanges of parameters have been analysed. Conditions presented are expected to be useful in practice because these will identify the potential multiple parameters for a simultaneous exchange.
