Abstract: This research, investigated the impact of entrepreneurial venture risk taking on solid waste collection capacity in Abuja, Nigeria. The study utilised a multi-methods approach consisting of direct field observations, key informant interviews and questionnaire survey for primary data collection. Data collected were analysed using the statistical program for social sciences, SPSS version 17.0 software. Results indicate that entrepreneurial activities can be used to optimise efficiencies in sustainable solid waste management. In particular, the study found that entrepreneurial venture risk taking has a positive correlation on solid waste collection capacity with a strong significance value of 0.001. It is recommended that government should formulate policies that encourage entrepreneurial venture risk taking in order to enhance sustainable solid waste collection capacity within the case study area.
