Abstract:
The Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is one of the best swarm intelligence-based algorithms that simulate intelligent behaviour of honey bees while searching for good food sources. Generally, this algorithm is used to get solution of complex optimisation problems that are not solvable by traditional methods. The facility layout design is combinatorial problem with large search space. Here, this work considers design of a single floor manufacturing plant, where all the facilities require rectangular shape with different sizes. The new variant successfully find optimised layout.
