Analysis of plastic waste management in India: study of law and behaviour

Abstract: Ever-increasing demand for single-use or disposable plastics has contributed to generation of large amounts of plastic waste. Pollution caused by these single use plastics has become a subject of international debate. This paper discusses and evaluates international and national framework to combat plastic pollution. The methodology adopted in this research paper is empirical by collection of primary data through a questionnaire consisting of 20 questions administered to a random sample of 108 respondents in the age group of 18-67 years, selected from urban population. On the basis of the study of the global practices relating to plastic waste as well as analysis of data, suggestions have been made for improvement of the Indian framework relating to plastic waste.
