Abstract: The paper presents an analysis of 2010 monthly evolution of the lead as quoted on LME (London Metal Exchange) also presenting the relationship between lead demand and supply at global level, also highlighting the factors having a major influence on global lead market evolution. The paper presents the global ranking for the main producers of refined lead, used in over 80% in manufacturing industry batteries for automobiles, and also the global hierarchy of main consumers. Stressing the important role of China on the lead global market (this country owns the largest share in global lead consumption and at the same time is one of the biggest producers of refined lead), the paper concludes with some forecasts regarding the demand and supply for primary and secondary lead, with significant influence on the metal price.
