Abstract:
Considering the importance of zinc global market for the galvanized steel sector and for the manufacturing batteries sector, this paper presents an analysis of its 2010 evolution. The presented data focuses on the relationship between market trends and the main factors having a major influence on the evolution of demand, supply and on the zinc quotation on the LME (London Metal Exchange). In the final part of the paper we present some short term forecasts of the zinc market and of the zinc prices taking into account the increasing global demand for this product. It should be noted that China has a significant contribution in the increased global demand for zinc, since this country is the largest worldwide consumer, accounting for over 40% of total global consumption.
