Vegetable Oils and Oilseeds

Eufrosina Mereoru

Conjunctura economiei mondiale / World Economic Studies, 2015

Abstract: The vegetable oil prices have recorded during the 2014/15 season, an overall downward trend, with the exception of peanuts oil (+ 0.14%); the palm oil has recorded the lowest level in the season analyzed (-20.8%), followed by rapeseed (-18%), soybean oil (-17.6%) and sunflower oil (- 8.2% compared to 2013/2014 season). The main factors that have contributed to the decline of the vegetable oils market prices were the faster growth of production to consumption worldwide and the increasing inventories.
