Virginia Campeanu
Euroinfo, 2017, vol. 1, issue 10, 3-19
Abstract:
The article presents the dynamics of the European Union's strategic objectives for sustainable development in the field of public health, from the first strategy (2001) up to the horizon 2030. Our research is focused on the main sustainable development health indicators in the European Union and the Member States from the viewpoint of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030. A comparative analysis of these indicators between some Central and East European countries (CEE-6), including Romania and EU-28 reveals intra-EU gaps regarding the public health. The article presents the forecast over the 2020-2060 horizon of the public health spending as a main economic determinant of public health, outlining the long-term consequences on intra-EU gaps in the public health sector.
