THE MALTESE PRESIDENCY: THE MAIN PRIORITIES FOR AGRICULTURE

Abstract: The article highlights the main priorities and objectives of the Maltese presidency of the Agriculture and Fisheries European Council (from January 1 to June 30, 2017). On this line, the article notes the general aspects of the Council meeting, EU trade agreements for agriculture and recent developments of EU agricultural markets. The analysis undertaken in this article aims to synthesize, through a qualitative research, relevant issues on the common fisheries policy referring to several important legislation regarding multi-years plans, foreign fishing fleets and a number of technical measures.
