VISEGRAD GROUP – PROPOSALS REGARDING THE EU REFORM PROJECT

Abstract: In the European Union, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary (Visegrad Group,V4) do actively participate in shaping the Community Agenda. In the Joint Declarations adopted either in response to the EU initiatives, or as recommendations for the EU decision making process, the group expresses its opinions and recommendations, in a tone that is frequently extremely critical. Nevertheless such measures are not adopted for the purpose of destabilizing the EU. On the contrary, the V4 group remains faithful to the European construction however it sustains the fair governance and the increase of the role of nation states in decision making. This analysis brings to the forefront the V4 Bratislava Declaration of September 2016 and V4 Warsaw Declaration of March 2017, highlighting that the proposals of the Visegrad Group are included in the Rome Declaration.
