Abstract:
The competition policy is one of the areas where the EU has full powers, since the European Commission has the right to directly investigate various sectors of the Member States economies. The main areas of investigation of this common policy (state aid, antitrust and merger control) are of major importance for maintaining the free competition and competitiveness on the EU internal market. Given these realities, our paper aims to present some of the competition policy main achievements also highlighting its priorities for 2017, taking into account the most recent EU regulations and strategic papers.
