Abstract:
World economic outlook for 2017 indicated a slight advance in the pace of economic growth compared to 2016, ending the doubts and fears expressed by some analyses that predicted a further slowdown in this pace. Against the backdrop of an acceleration of external demand, materialized at a nearly doubled pace of international trade in 2017 as compared to 2016, but also under vigorous domestic demand, the resurgence of productive and investment activity was felt in the great majority of economies. The 2018 year seems to confirm this positive trend, as analyses recently published by the UN, the IMF, the World Bank, the OECD and the European Commission reveal the achievement of higher world economic growth rates than in 2017.
