Euroinfo, 2018, vol. 2, issue 3, 55-62
Abstract:
During the post-crisis period, numerous State aids, both sectoral and horizontal, were granted at EU level. The analysis undertaken in this article aims to highlight, on the basis of the most recent EU report(State Aid Scoreboard, published in 2017), the main trends and developments about crisis-related state aid.In our research we will also present how the global economic crisis has reshaped the regulatory framework for State aid control, but also what were the main changes brought by the modernization reform(SAM reform). We will also show how the state aids have been directed towards supporting financial and banking stability at EU level, highlighting the types of instruments used (guarantees, capital injections, recapitalisations, impaired assets), while depicting how they have been implemented by the Member States.
