Euroinfo, 2019, vol. 3, issue 2, 55-66
Abstract:
The issue of urban-rural disparities in education is an intensely debated one in the theoretical literature, both in terms of causes and solutions to reduce them. Hence, in this paper we aim to present the most relevant theories regarding these gaps, as well as the causes of their manifestation in the EU, and the particularities existing in Romania. Given that education is a strategic priority at national level, our paper will highlight a relevant indicator, the share of spending on education in GDP, but also, through a qualitative analysis, the factors contributing to the maintenance of gaps in Romania.
