Euroinfo, 2019, vol. 3, issue 3, 3-17
Abstract:
On mid-March, 2019, the European Commission set out an assessment of EU-China relations, its multiple dimensions, its opportunities and its challenges, followed by a plan of 10 concrete actions on a new EU-China Strategic Outlook for discussion and endorsement by the European Council in the next week. The Action Plan brings significant changes in bilateral relations to achieve three strategic objectives of the European Union. Hence, the present paper is structured in three parts, which reveal a) the change of the EU's position towards the strategic partner-China; b) the synthesis of the Action Plan and the elements underlying each EU strategic action; c) EU and USA - similar positions, different solutions to some of China's unfair commercial practices.
