Abstract:
There is a growing interest in Knowledge-Intensive Business Services-KIBS at the global level. KIBS entice authors’ interest, both because of their novelty character, and because they are acknowledged to be specific to developed economies (and therefore a desideratum for developing economies). In this context, this article aims to briefly analyse the specificity of a Knowledge-Intensive Business Services sector in Romania: financial intermediation and insurance. We emphasize the existence of sharp regional disparities as the main challenge to the growth rate of this domain of activity.
