THE POLICIES FOR YOUTH EMPLOYMENT GROWTH IN EUROPEAN UNION

Alina Dumitrescu

Euroinfo, 2019, vol. 3, issue 5, 17-28

Abstract: The article analyzes the issues of increasing employment and combating unemployment among young people. The research methodology is based on the quantitative analysis of the statistical data provided by Eurostat, as well as on a qualitative analysis based on the EU documents and on the literature in the field. The main findings of the research are that Member States registering a critical situation in the field among which is Romania will need to step up their efforts to implement the Youth Guarantee and attract EU funds by using good practice examples from performing countries. Last but not least, in order to achieve better results in this area, Romania has to develop national strategies for integrating young people into the labor market by providing financial incentives (wage subsidies or tax exemptions).
