Abstract:
This paper briefly analyses and compares the economic structures in Euro area and Romania.More exactly, we have emphasized the contributions of households, non-financial corporations, financial corporations, and government to different macroeconomic indicators. The analysis is relevant considering the importance of having similar economic cycles and increased integration in European Union member states. In line with expectations, our findings have revealed differences between Euro area and Romania. Furthermore, we have notices an increased volatility for both the macroeconomic indicators and the contributions of sectors in Romania. Therefore, we highlight the importance of adopting policies to increase the economic convergence.
