THE ROMANIAN LABOR MARKET UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Abstract: The article focuses on researching the resilience of the labor market in Romania under theconditions of the Covid-19 pandemic. There are analyzed the main indicators that characterize thelabor market in their evolution: the employment rate, the unemployment rate, the share of underemployed workers, additional workforce. Also, a series of measures which were implemented bythe Romanian government to support the economic environment and employment are presented comparatively. The conclusions regarding the effectiveness of the measures that were taken to reduce the negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the labor market in Romania are presented in the form of a SWOT analysis. The applied qualitative research methodology is based on the analysis of the employment policies, and on the interpretation of statistical data, provided by the National Institute of Statistics, for the period 2019-2022.
