Abstract:
The present paper aims to identify the consumer behaviour main features of the people with intellectual disabilities. After a brief theoretical presentation of EU recommendations and policies for supporting people with disabilities, followed by a presentation of the general characteristics, but also of some specific features of the most common types of intellectual disabilities, as well as of some communication campaigns in order to support them, the paper continues with the presentation of the results of international research on the consumer behaviour of people with intellectual disabilities. The applied approach is based on a qualitative research carried out through interviews with people with intellectual disabilities, but also with specialists in the field of the studied topic, from Romania and from other European countries.
