Euroinfo, 2024, vol. 8, issue 1, 84-97
Abstract:
This article aims to analyse the current state in the implementation of the European Green Deal agenda and to highlight the position of some main political groups in the European Parliament regarding its evolution in the next electoral cycle. Our analysis is focused on the impact of Green Deal on the EU agri-food system and is structured in four chapters: 1) European Green Deal Barometer; 2) Towards an European agriculture that can cope with climate change and ensure food sovereignty; 3) A new European Deal for the future, supported by the European Greens; 4) Withdrawal of Green Deal measures from the Common Agricultural Policy. The article ends with conclusions, in which correlations are made between the position of the political parties in the European Parliament towards the Green Deal and the popular vote of June 9, 2024.
