THE CONTRIBUTION OF COMPETITION POLICY TO BOOSTING GROWTH IN THE EU

Andreea Dragoi

Impact of Socio-economic and Technological Transformations at National, European and International Level (ISETT), 2016, vol. 11

Abstract: Our research summarizes the main theoretical approaches on how competition policy may boost economic growth across the European Union. Based on some of the assumptions derived from this overview, our article aims to provide a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the mechanisms and processes by which competition policy may convert into a genuine †engine†of economic development. Research methodology will use a series of case studies to illustrate how competition policy may act as a very vector of sustainable development. The final part of our research highlights some conclusions on the impact of competition policy on growth in the European Union.
