Abstract:
The importance of apple tree culture is given by the apple fruit food value and the economic impact on the population. This study was done to promote newly introduced varieties in the culture and to appreciate the gustative qualities of the fruits. Regarding the acidity influence, it can be said that this parameter reaches different values depending on variety as well as on soil maintenance system. In all the five tested cultivars there was a visible trend of increase in the values of titrable acidity for the fruits harvested from the trees maintained in buffer strip systems and/or fallow orchard as compared to those harvested from the trees grown in dead fallow systems or with herbicidation on the row of trees.
