Sustainable development and forest criminal offenses

Mincan Stefan Alin

Impact of Socio-economic and Technological Transformations at National, European and International Level (ISETT), 2015, vol. 4

Abstract: The global economic development that has occurred in recent years was made by ignoring the effects it had on the environmental components (forest, water, air), producing deep and sharp changes in their structure. Since the wood represents a renewable raw material, but not inexhaustible, is necessary to ensure sustainable exploitation of forest management; any forest land must acquire new meanings, becoming more than just a concept. Economic development unprecedented in the last period was made without taking into account the effects of this product on environmental elements and irrational economic policies on forests have resulted in the decrease of the massive cutting of forests, doubled with the failure to take measures foe reforestation of exploited areas.
