Claudiu Ramon Butculescu

Impact of Socio-economic and Technological Transformations at National, European and International Level (ISETT), 2015, vol. 6

Abstract: The tourism industry has an important contribution to the GDP of a country, both through domestic consumption of tourist services and receipts from international tourism. According to data provided by the National Statistics Institute, domestic tourist movement in 2014 slightly exceeded the 6.5 million residents. Underlining the importance to supporting domestic tourism, we propose to identify the perception of Romanian tourists on internal tourism offer and determine the reasons behind the choice of holiday destination. The specific objectives of the research were: determining Romanian tourist satisfaction in its internal holidays, assessment and classification of the determinant factors in choosing holiday destinations, respectively analysis of tourists satisfaction in relation with these determinants, based on the personal experiences of traveling into the country and abroad. To achieve the objectives was conducted a direct quantitative research, based on a statistical survey, having self-administered questionnaire as instrument, during the period March-May 2015.
