Abstract:
Currently, China has the largest high-speed rail network and one of the most important industries in this field worldwide. That is a great performance, considering the relatively short time it needed for the industry's development and for reaching such high rankings. In this paper we analyze these issues, we look at the reasons why Beijing authorities chose to stimulate the development of the high-speed train industry and transport and how was this achieved. We also consider the implications of the high-speed rail industry for china in terms of the international relations.
