Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to establish the extent to which women participate in the logistics and transport industry in Namibia. A mixed research method was adopted, and data was collected from a sample of 70 research participants from 14 logistics and transport companies operating in Windhoek. Convenience sampling was used to select these 14 logistics and transport companies while purposive sampling was used to select the 70 employees who participated in this. This study has established that the logistics and transport industry in Namibia is male dominated. The degree of female participation in this industry is very low since female employees are said to constitute only 31% of the total workforce in the industry. Female employees occupying technical roles in the selected logistics and transport companies in Windhoek is less than 15% on average.
