Teamwork and Performance of Commercial Banks in Anambra State, Nigeria

Abstract: Organizations today concentrate on teamwork to solve organizational problems, achieve a competitive advantage, and encourage employee creativity. Organizations require the positive force of teamwork because it develops and empowers employee potential and skills. Also, the absence of teamwork concepts and strategies can lead to occupational failure, disappointment, low morale, and poor productivity, which threaten the entity of the organization. The study examines the effect of teamwork on employee performance of commercial banks in Anambra state. A sample size of 132 employees in selected banks was derived using the Taro Yamane formula, and a structured questionnaire was employed to gather the opinions of the respondents. The formulated hypothesis was tested with simple regression. The findings revealed that team innovative behavior has a significant positive effect on quality service delivery. The study recommended that organizations should provide positive reinforcement to help keep everyone motivated and team morale up to work together to improve productivity and achieve goals
