Abstract: Mobile phones are universally popular due to their convenience. Mobile phones solve problems and offer new channels of communication by using a device small enough to fit into one hand. On the other hand, mobile phones are harmful to the environment and which leads to health problems in society and pollution problems via waste contamination and discharge of radiation. Concerns have recently been raised about the sustainability and potential effects on the environment of mobile phones. This study discusses the issues relating to risks associated with mobile phones and addresses sustainable development initiatives and strategies to rectify those issues.
